The Indiana Quality Assurance Builder Standards program is designed to create a series of performance standards that builders and their customers can use to communicate and understand each other's expectations regarding the building and remodeling project.
As a commitment to membership in the Southwestern Indiana Builders Association, every member has agreed to the following conditions related to the Indiana Quality Assurance Builder Standards:
- Members must provide an original (not copied) Indiana Quality Assurance Builder Standards manual to every customer at the time of contract signing for each new construction and/or remodeling project you undertake.
- To purchase additional manuals, contact the SIBA office.

- All contracts must include language incorporating the Standards as a part of each new construction and/or remodeling project you undertake.
- Recommended sales contract language for contracts WITH and for contracts WITHOUT additional purchased warranty (i.e. 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty or any other warranty that meets the implied warranty law of the State of Indiana) is available through the SIBA office.

- A third party dispute resolution mechanism, selected by the member to handle disputes arising from the Standards, shall be part of all contracts for construction and/or remodeling projects you undertake.
- You may be required to address the SIBA Indiana Quality Assurance Builder Standards Review Committee for non-compliance with these commitments, unresolved dispute resolutions, or a large number of complaints against you.
- The Committee may recommend that the Board of Directors impose sanctions, which may include but are not limited to eliminating membership privileges and/or expulsion from SIBA.

- Notwithstanding the above Section 1, with respect to remodeling projects, to the extend practical for the given scope of a remodeling project, you shall provide a complete Quality Assurance Builder Standards manual to each customer and include the Standards into the contract for the project.
- If, due to the limited scope of the remodeling project, you deem it not practical to provide a manual to the customer and/or not include the Standards in the contract, you understand that you do so at your own risk and will hold SIBA harmless from any legal action taken against you.

- Notwithstanding the above Section 5, with respect to remodeling projects, you shall comply with all Standards applicable to the project, regardless of having given the customer a manual and/or including the Standards into the contract for the project. In addition, you agree to provide a manual to any customer requesting one regardless of the extent or nature of the project.
- It is understood that the decision to not provide a manual to the customer will not necessarily be the basis by which a complaint and determination regarding adherence to the Standards' commitment will be reviewed.
